I get quite a lot of mails asking about Airtel’s GPRS services and their settings, so I thought I’ll post this here.

First things, you should know that Airtel provides 3 types of GPRS services:

• Airtel Live
• Airtel NOP (or Net On Phone)
• Airtel Mobile Office

SaveMyLanguage.org – An Online GSB Konkani Dictionary

I’m not sure how exactly this conversation came about but @prolificd casually tweeted me, asking me If I’d heard of savemylanguage.org I replied no, and checked it – and it turned out to be an awesome site.

Its got quite a lot of articles, a wordlist of Konkani words in Devnagiri script, with meanings in English, and also an English To Konkani and Konkani to English translator. Unfortunately the translator didn’t quite work, even for a relatively simple ‘how are you doing’ phrase. Regardless, its quite a good site, and you can even submit a Konkani word which is not there in the word list.

And The Passport Arrives
on 23/10/2008 - like it?

After running about the Mangalore passport offices, running behind the cops to get verification done, and running to Bangalore passport office and converting the passport application to Tatkal, I finally received my passport in Chennai yesterday.

It wasn’t all smooth sailing though – I could’ve gotten it a LOT earlier but Ayudha Pooja, Vijaya Dashami, holidays caused the Passport application processing to be delayed by a week.

Layoffs galore
on 17/10/2008 - like it?

SInce the past couple of days, I’ve been reading lot of email forwards regarding X or Y Company laying off Z people, and frankly it never really bothered me much – mainly because the forwards aren’t that reliable.

But then today, that whole thing of a layoff really hit me.
