Couple of days ago, I tweeted this little message. July 9, 2007 is a red letter day for me – for that was the day I started my career as a working professional. As I tweeted that, I was greeted over IM by few of my friends and colleagues. It didn’t strike me much as soon as I tweeted, but few hours later I was just amazed as to how fast time has gone by – and how far I’ve come. To think, I applied for this position as an afterthought (“should I really ? Well..”). That got me into nostalgia mode.

3 Months… And More to Come!

Its been a while since I’ve posted (crap nearly a month) on my blog – so what have I been upto and what’s happening ?
For starters, work, work, work, more work – did I mention work ? There’s just 2 people here in Austin for the project I’m with and as we hit the project go live date, there’s tons of work to be doing – and the 2 of us are just about struggling. My colleague being the Business Analyst & Implementer -means that he’s got to report to his managers about what’s going on and and analysis of bug reports, calls resolved etc. That leaves him busy – and leaves me with a frikkin’ huge set of things to do – test the test conditions in advance and report any bugs found.

1 Year At Chip Forums

Today I completed an anniversary of sorts – 1 year of registering at Chip India forums. Chip was the first site I visited soon as I got my BSNL broadband connection(yeah, a year ago), and was instantly hooked on, esp with “friendliness quotient” factor of the forums. I was on “lurk” state for a few days, and was overwhelmed – by the amount of knowledge these guys at forums had. Initially I couldn’t post a reply to many topics – since I didn’t know much about them, at all, although exception was anything regarding Linux, since I’ve been a Linux user for a bit, but then posts on Linux were few and far between. Nevertheless, it’s been a very fruitful, daunting, learning experience.

Over the this period, I’ve made quite a lot of friends. In-fact, Sathya Says wouldn’t be in existence if it wasn’t for Chip, as I’d come to know Preshit over there – Preshit’s now a good friend of mine, pro-blogger, web maniac, twitter & flickr buff, and of course, my site host – ExperTrio. Preshit’s been a huge influence on me, especially with the way I see the Internet now. Of course there are other guys at Chip, who’ve helped me a lot, but Preshit’s influence is something different altogether. I’m also a registered user at Digit forums, a Moderator at Tech2.0 forums, but Chip remains Chip.

Thanks to all for making this stay worthwhile and an extremely pleasant experience.
