Enable/Disable AutoPlay For Individual Drives
· ☕ 1 min read · ✍️ sathya

Windows’ Autoplay is a neat feature - the moment you pop in a CD/Drive or a Removable drive, autorun.inf file is read, and any executable file mentioned in there is executed. While this seems as a good idea, say, for automated setup installers, Autoplay has gathered some infamy as a virus distribution centre.

With default settings, you can only disable or enable Autoplay totally, not for individual drives. So is there a way to enable Autoplay, say only for individual drives, say, CD Drive? Yes!

For that you’ll need Tweak UI, grab it from here. After installing, launch it.

Change your Yahoo IM Status to What You Are Currently Listening to

While on IM, one of the most common question everyone asks is - How do you show what song you’re listening to? Well it’s a no-brainer really, quite a few plugins exist which allow to do so, but most of them are buggy, don’t work with one version or the other, or just don’t work at all! Well after doing a bit of research, I found an ideal plugin for Winamp - Yahoo Messenger 9/8/7 Now Playing v4.

How-to: Change the themes and icons of Sony Ericsson P1i

The p1i by default comes with a rather drab theme, and the default ones are no good either. So, to spice up the phone’s look a bit, you can always download new themes(my current one is the PSP original theme from Themebin). While changing the theme is a no-brainer - just download (or beam) the theme(.utz) file to your memory card(or phone memory), use file manager to browse to the location where the theme is saved, click on it and just apply!

Overclocking a NVIDIA 8600m GT

Requirements

  • Latest nVidia drivers
  • ATiTool 0.26/RivaTuner 2.06
  • A bit of patience
  1. Getting the latest drivers.
Unfortunately, the drivers from nvidia’s site won’t work for a laptop, as they don’t recognize the mobile versions. What you need are drivers from https://www.laptopvideo2go.com Also do note that NOT ALL drivers support OC’ing. The latest that I tried were 171.16.

Grab the latest drivers from here. Also, pick up the modified inf files from the same thread. Now extract the downloaded drivers to a folder(the .exe is a self extracting 7z compressed file). Next, goto the folder where the drivers are extracted. Replace the inf file with the modded inf file you have downloaded. DO NOT run the setup.exe file. You will have to update the drivers manually, using the Have Disk Method.
To do this, goto Control Panel, Double click the System, Click on Hardware Tab and Choose the Device Manager. Expand Display adapters, right click on the 8600m GT and Click on Properties. Click on Driver tab, and Choose update drivers.
