… for a fortnight, that is. Although, I was not strictly Bangalored, barely a week after joining Logica I was asked to come over for Bangalore for 2 weeks for some training sessions. Now since this was a company sponsored training, my travel and accommodation was handled by them. Reached Bangalore on Sunday, May 1st morning via the Jan Shatabdi Chennai-Mysore train at 10:45am. Ashwin was kind enough to come over to the railway station to pick me up.
March 19 1985, 05:28. Date and time a certain SJ (no, not Steve Jobs, me!) came into this world. Fast forward to March 19, 2010. Today. Yesterday. couple of days ago. 25. I’ve “officially” completed 25 years of which 22 years were spent in Mangalore, 9 months in Austin, and the remaining time in Chennai. The day was pretty uneventful, however. My colleague Sweety was the first to call at 12:00, and Zakir, the silent assassin sitting besides me jumped and pounced on me, hammering away - all in the name of “bumps”.
Just a quick post. Got the dates for my trip to Austin. Leaving tomorrow, November 20th, at 15:15 for a Chennai -> Mumbai flight. 23:40 is the Mumbai -> New Jersey flight. Finally, 08:00 New Jersey -> Austin flight. Oh Aalaap just mentioned about a tweetup in Mumbai International Airport. Anyone coming? 😛
Picture courtesy Karthik Well the third Chennai twitter meetup was held yesterday - and like the second tweetup, this one too was decided in a hurry. UNLIKE the last tweetup, we had more people - 7 people all in all including me, The ones that attended were Ashish (@ashishmohta) Balaji Sowmyanarayan(@labsji) Gayathri (@gbot) Karthik(@karthiksn) Narayanan(@narayananh) Palaniappam (@palam) The venue was decided to be Mocha, K N K Road, Nungambakkam as it seemed to be sort-of a central location to most people.
It seems with twitter everything happens instantaneously. You get instant feedback, instant replies, instant responses. And the next Chennai twitter meet was decided instantaneously. I was talking to Ashwin aka cruisemaniac regarding his day day in Italy, and he asked if I’m in Chennai. I responded in positive, and he told me he’ll be landing here and will be here till Saturday and bam! Next thing we know we decided to meetup this Saturday, and extend the invitation to fellow Chennai twitter users.
Well, Kiruba decided to organise a Chennai Twitter Meetup. As the Wiki states, It’s really an excuse to have an informal get-together and some fun. A reason for us to get away from keyboards and make new friends in meatspace. We go dutch. Get your wallet along! Need directions? Call Kiruba at 98415 97744 Help tweet the news or slap the badge on your blog. If you’re a twitterer in Chennai and would like to be part of the meetup then head over to the Tweetup Wiki and fill in the details.
