Weekly Notes 27/2026

What's been happening

Another week, another late post - this time because I wanted to publish the Berrima Travelogue out. It's the week we'd been waiting for since the time we had booked our car. The week started with a call from the dealer that our car, the Geely EX5, is ready to pick up couple of days earlier than what was initially told to us. As excited as we were, we had to be in the city for work and had gym later on in the evening, so I told the dealer we'd pick it up later on in the week.

Come Thursday, we went over to the dealer where the salesperson was waiting for us. After finishing off some sign-off formalities and handing us over the keys, manuals and other paperwork, he gave us a rundown of the various features of the car. He also told us how to charge the car.

The car comes with a Level 1 charger (aka "granny charger") - this basically lets you plug in to a standard socket for an extremely slow charge. Good enough for weekday runs. He told us that the faster 7 kWh charger will be dispatched soon. We'll need to get it installed but that's for later.

We spent about an hour at the dealership, finishing off the paperwork, the demos, the photoshoots (lol). And once all that was done, it was time to head off with our car. By this time it was close to 2pm and Jo was running late for her meeting, and we hadn't eaten yet - so we did something we had never done ever in our life - drive-through McDonalds! 🤣🤣

We got back home and it was back to work. We wanted to do a Vaahan Pooja so we went over to Sydney Murugan temple as this temple didn't require a prior booking. At the temple office, the person told us they can only do the pooja after the evening aarti function was done and that would take about 45 minutes - so we said that's ok and we sat in the temple and watched the aarti and then got the vaahan pooja done.

The temple itself was pretty nice - fairly quiet though - that might be the Thursday lull though. By the time the pooja etc was done, it was close to 8pm so we went over to Laung Lachee for dinner. Funny, the last time we went to Laung Lachee was prior to our (current) house viewing and next has been after the car purchase.

The rest of the week went by pretty fast. Of course, we had to do a long drive to test the EX5 out. We decided to head down towards the Southern Highlands, to check out Fitzroy Falls & Berrima. There's a separate post on that. Sunday was rest day. The front yard had overgrown quite a bit with weeds so I got my whipper-snipper and lawn mower out and cleaned it up a bit. Jo was helping putting some more mulch to cover some of the open spots that had come on the side strip.

What I've been playing

Path of Exile 2 - I've been having a blast with the current league of Path of Exile. My choice of the Permafrost Witchhunter ensured that even on Tier 15 maps it's a smooth sailing. I also defeated two of the Pinnacle bosses - the Arbiter of Ash and Xesht. It took like 10 times or so to understand and defeat the Arbiter of Ash (thanks to some bullet hell mechanics) and in comparison, Xesht only took 3 attempts. The Arbiter of Divinity is the next target!

What I've been reading

I noticed Questionable Content's archives were restored, so been having a good time reading that. Still on the lookout for decent webcomics, so if you know let me know in the comments.

Music of the Week

YUNGBLUD's cover of Black Sabbath's Changes is awesome.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for reading and have a great week ahead.
